New photo modes should bring more pep in the aerial photographs. For example, with Super Resolution you can automatically create panoramas of up to 48 megapixels from nine individual shots. The Mavic 2 Zoom also has a Dolly Zoom. In this mode, the quadcopter moves away from the object, zooming in on the targeted subject at the same time. The motif remains the same size, the environment disappears simultaneously.
Both cameras allow hyperlapse shooting to create time-lapse photography. Since the flight time per battery charge according to the manufacturer is limited to 31 minutes with no wind, time-lapse photography is only possible for a limited period of time.
Video transmission to the pilot’s control console is via both 2.4GHz and 5GHz. This is to achieve a stable transmission up to a distance of eight kilometers.
collision avoidance
To prevent collisions, Mavic 2 Pro and Mavic 2 Zoom feature omnidirectional obstacle detection that only works in certain modes such as Active Track or Tripod, but does not include a true 360 degree radius. Ten sensors then evaluate the two models continuously for obstacle detection - assuming sufficient brightness.
Mavic 2 Pro and Mavic 2 Zoom are now available on the DJI manufacturer site. The Mavic 2 Pro costs 1450 euros, the Mavic 2 Zoom is available for 1250 euros. In combination with the DJI Goggles Racing Edition (from 529.67 €), the price increases to 1948 euros for the Mavic 2 Pro and 1748 euros for the Mavic 2 Zoom. The predecessor model Mavic Pro (from € 849.90) will continue to be available for prices below € 1000.
